Hey folks
First of all, if you can deal with the violence and the intensity of it all, I HIGHLY recommend you go see District 9. It's one of the most involved, complex, and smart movies I've seen in a long time. And at no point does it over-explain things and pander to the assumed stupidity of the audience, which is something most contemporary sci-fi films do. Go check it out! Best movie I've seen this summer thus far.
The other thing: yeah, I was out of the show for 8 performances because I injured my knee. And of course, it wasn't doing anything cool like leaping off one of the barrels in Toxic Avenger or while I was working out. Nope, just standing there. Foot slipped while my knee was locked, it twisted and I felt something go crunch. Ugh. Stupid. Anyway, no need to go into all that nasty bidness. The point is, I've been back in the show for a while and the knee is healing. Also, Diana Degarmo (of American Idol, for those of you who don't know) has joined the cast as Sarah the blind librarian and she's great! So come on down to New World Stages and check us out!
And I'm back working with my favorite ladies Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich on a new demo recording of Ever After. Probably won't be able to release any of that material on this blog, but I wanted to let you folks know that there's movement on that front. All of us who've been involved with this show for a few years now LOVE the material and are really hoping this demo allows the show to go forward sometime in the near future.
Cheers
